With films such as Beau travail, 35 rhums, and Un beau soleil intérieur, French director Claire Denis is considered one of the most prominent directors of the moment. With her new film High Life she is exploring new territory: it is her first science fiction film and her first English-language film. Of course it is also a Denis film, in which she presents her view on sexuality, isolation and unconditional love. Also with Juliette Binoche in one of the most remarkable masturbation scenes ever recorded on film.
