Queen of Hearts
"My greatest fear is that one day everything will be gone," says family law attorney Anne. It's a justified fear, as her life seems to be perfect. Besides having an excellent job, she lives in a beautiful house with her loving husband Peter and their two daughters. Then one day Peter's son from a previous marriage, 16-year-old Gustav, turns up to shatter the idyll. After a run-in with the police in Stockholm, his family decided it would be a good idea to stay with his father in Denmark for a while. Initially, Anne isn't thrilled, but once Gustav has arrived, she finds his presence rather exciting and eventually seduces him. This has far-reaching consequences, but Anne has no intentions of losing everything.
Director May el-Toukhy gave Danish actress Trine Dyrholm ample freedom to develop the complex character of Anne, resulting in intense and brilliant acting.
