Tre piani

The story of three families living on three different floors of the same apartment block in the middle of Rome. Their lives are challenged by a series of events, revealing the difficulties of being a parent, brother or neighbour in a world where resentment and fear seem to dominate. While the men are prisoners of their stubbornness, the women try to mend the disunited lives and bring back the missing love to their building.

In Tre piani, director, writer and actor Nanni Moretti – known for La stanza del figlio and Habemus Papam – provides an intimate glimpse into the lives of people who seem to have it all, but who are emotionally stuck. Based on Eshkol Nevo's novel Three Floors Up, this is Moretti's first adaptation of another source material. Cast includes Riccardo Scamarcio, Alba Rohrwacher, Margherita Buy, and Nanni Moretti.
