Prior to the screening, QP curator Renske Diks talks with Mavi Veloso, a Brazilian performer based in Amsterdam who works transdisciplinary integrating visual art, dance, theater and music. Her work explores performativity, the relationship between performer and audience, trans feminism and decolonization.

Having just finished a 28-day prison sentence, transgender sex worker Sin-Dee Rella meets her girlfriend Alexandra at a donut joint in Hollywood on Christmas Eve. Alexandra, also a trans sex worker, reveals that Sin-Dee's boyfriend and pimp Chester has been cheating on her with a cisgender woman. Sin-Dee furiously storms out to search for Chester and the woman. Alexandra is picked up by Razmik, an Armenian cab driver, who prefers trans women. After he's got what he wants, Alexandra goes to the bar for her performance. In the meantime, Sin-Dee finds the other woman, in a brothel...
Director Sean Baker had to produce this film on a $100,000 budget. Having such little money forces creative solutions: he shot the film using three smartphones and a video app. The film, a mix of drama and humour, was well received by critics and viewers and nearly recovered its budget tenfold at the box office.
