Hemelsleutel

Director Digna Sinke is working on a feature film starring Lea. Lea is a young woman tasked with making a documentary about the energy transition in the port of Amsterdam. To do this properly, she must delve into how local politics relate to this transition, as well as the conflicting interests at play here. It starts as a business project, but soon memories and associations emerge in Lea. Slowly, Sinke's own memories begin to run through those of her character Lea. And as the line between Sinke and Lea blurs, the character of the film also changes: what started as fiction becomes more and more of a documentary.

Digna Sinke can boast an impressive CV: her career, which began in the 1970s, includes numerous films she has made or produced. In her latest film, Hemelsleutel, she tells a personal and gentle story about getting older, loss and doubt.
