The System
There is a lot wrong with the world: global warming and the resulting rise in sea levels, economic inequality that is greater than ever, wars and political instability are the order of the day. What can you do about it? Does it still make sense to make your voice heard? While many hope that things will not get that bad and simply carry on with their daily lives, there are also people who refuse to accept the status quo. Director Joris Postema (Stop Filming Us) tells the story of three of them in this compelling documentary.
They include flood expert Henk Oving, former envoy to the UN in New York, Pippi van Ommen, co-founder of Extinction Rebellion, and Tadzio Müller, a Berlin climate activist and anti-fascist – three passionate idealists who show that change is possible through cooperation and imagination. With a soundtrack by Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo.
