Top Gun: Maverick
Tom Cruise initially saw little point in a sequel to one of the biggest hits of his career: Top Gun (1986). Nevertheless, work began in 2010 on developing ideas for a sequel. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer had once again approached Tony Scott to take on the directing role, but following Scott’s suicide in 2012, the plans were put on hold.
