Look What You Made Me Do

"When I told my mother that a boy had beaten me in the schoolyard, she said, 'That's because he likes you'"; with that text, this exposé on femicide opens. As Laura recounts her act, the 112 call sounds and we hear about her boyfriend's murder. As she roasts meatballs, Rosalba recounts how she burnt her husband in a barn in an Italian field. Rachel is silent in the night. A woman, hidden in red shadows for safety reasons, tells of her violent husband. Laura, Rachel and Rosalba give her advice. Never believe in a man's repentance, warns Rosalba. Laura, Rachel and Rosalba saw murder as the only solution, their act weighs them down.

Look What You Made Me Do is a film about fear, anger, and resolution. The ultimate revenge film, with a happy ending: Laura, Rachel and Rosalba are not among the group of 30,000 women killed every year by their (ex-)partner. They have survived.
