Mon crime

With already his 47th film, French director François Ozon proves to be able to move through all film genres with great ease, be it drama, musical or comedy. His latest film, Mon crime, falls into the latter category. It is an enjoyable crime comedy, for which Ozon himself wrote the screenplay based on Georges Berr's 1934 play of the same name. Starring Isabelle Huppert, Rebecca Marder and Nadia Tereszkiewicz.

Paris, 1930s: actress Madeleine Verdier is young and pretty, but also without a penny to her name and not too talented. When she is accused of murdering a well-known film producer, things do not look good for her, but thanks to lawyer Pauline Mauléon, a good friend of hers, she is acquitted on grounds of self-defence. That changes everything, as what follows is a period of success and fame. Life smiles at her, until the truth comes to light…
