Estación catorce

It has been a long time since a train stopped at station 14 in the Mexican village of San Luis Potosi. Goods trains pass through the village every day, but little else happens. Consequently, poverty is high and, to make matters worse, the cars of the various drug cartels regularly drive through the place, carrying criminals who spread death and destruction. It is here where 7-year-old Luis grows up. One day, when the drug criminals have disappeared, father Manuel sees his chance and goes out to take something valuable from the house of a murdered, wealthy couple. He takes Luis with him.

How does a child view a world so scarred by poverty and violence? What is it like for a little boy when he discovers that his father is actually just another vulnerable human being? It is these questions that Diana Cardozo addresses in this self-written drama.
