Bright, Indonesian Yuni is almost done with high school and she knows exactly what she wants to do next: study at university. To make that happen, some school grades have to go up and, more importantly, she has to stay single. The latter does not prove easy, as the first marriage proposals have already been made. Yuni turns them all down, but from the village community the pressure is mounting to say 'yes' for once, because a woman who turns down a marriage proposal three times will never marry again, or so an old myth goes.

Director Kamila Andini (The Seen and the Unseen, Nana), who co-wrote the screenplay with Prima Rusdi, tells a coming-of-age story about a Muslim teenage girl who refuses to resign herself to the widely held view that marrying young is much more important and better for women than a good education. It earned her several international film awards. In particular, Arawinda Kirana's acting in the role of Yuni was widely praised.
