Perfect Blue

Successful pop singer Mima of the J-Pop band CHAM! decides to make a career switch: she will become an actress in a television soap opera, a choice her management wholeheartedly supports. But not all her fans are happy about this, some are not ready to bid her farewell. In particular, Mamoru Uchida, also known as Me-Mania, does not put up with it and starts stalking her in a disturbing way. A grim fate awaits her staff and supervisors, but Mima herself is also increasingly confronted with his terrifying presence, not only online, but also in real life... Not good for mental health.

This iconic thriller, director Satoshi Kon's groundbreaking debut feature, is often regarded as one of the most important anime films. In essence, it is a story about how blurred the line is between fantasy and reality, a theme that can also be found in Kon's later work.
