Perfect Days
During his routine days as a cleaner of public toilets in Tokyo, Hirayama listens to his cassette tapes of rock music, enjoying the everyday beauty around him. He is perfectly content with his simple life. He takes time to read books and enjoys his passion for trees, which he likes to photograph. Some unexpected encounters gradually reveal more about his past. It becomes clear how Hirayama learned to live in the here and now where routines do not exist, as long as you have an eye for the little things that change every day.
Renowned filmmaker Wim Wenders creates a moving and poetic reflection on everyday life with Perfect Days, showing where the beauty lies in the world around us. Lead actor Kôji Yakusho was awarded the Best Actor prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
