The Wolf of Wall Street
In 2007, stockbroker Jordan Belfort published his memoir entitled The Wolf of Wall Street. That same year, Leonard DiCaprio and a major film studio bought the rights, Martin Scorsese went to work on the screenplay, but it all led to nothing. In 2010, Ridley Scott was commissioned to film the memoir, but again no result. Two years later, another film company took over the project and hired Scorsese again. This time it was successful: 2013 finally saw the release of the film about the man whose walk of life was dubious to say the least, a pitch-black comedy starring DiCaprio.
Jordan Belfort wants to get rich trading stocks on Wall Street. First he works for a shady little company, later he and his friend Donnie Azoff set up their own investment firm: Stratton Oakmont. A success, as the money floods in, allowing Belfort to live an extremely decadent lifestyle. This attracts the attention of the FBI.
