Alles goed
Zoia, Natasha and Svitlana fled the war in their homeland Ukraine and ended up in Weesp, where a new shelter for Ukrainian refugees has just opened in a refurbished office building. Documentary filmmakers Peter and Petra Lataster, best known for De kinderen van juf Kiet, are there when the new residents bring their household goods and fully packed suitcases to their new home. As always, they do so with a meticulous, warm and human eye.
The large kitchen plays a central role in the women's lives, as food provides comfort. And while they make a pan of borscht, it becomes clear how great their grief is at having had to leave home, everything they hold dear, behind. But also how they are very worried about their men left behind, many of whom are fighting at the front against the Russians. As best they can, they try to build a new existence in the Netherlands.
