De Heilige Drie-eenheid
Photographer/filmmaker Martijn van de Griendt does not just want to shoot pictures, he wants to tell stories, because in everyone's life he discovers a story. In this, he is particularly fascinated by young people and now that he has been working as a photographer for over 25 years, he dares to say that youth is his speciality, being particularly intrigued by the story behind their search for identity and the vulnerability that comes with it. In the documentary The Holy Trinity, that fascination takes shape in a portrait of three young people.
Alex Sophie, Emma and Robbie, three 16-year-old emo kids from Eindhoven, are best friends. They are going through the summer of their final exams together, also the last summer of high school. It is an important phase in their lives, as the road to adulthood is not long. How do they cope with this realisation? In this loving portrait, Van de Griendt shows their swagger and strength, but also their insecurities.
