The young and talented Yvonne is a French-Vietnamese actress who dreams of making it big in the world of musical theatre. Her Vietnamese mother, however, is not as approving of her career goals. When Yvonne starts working with her mother in their family restaurant, the two women grow closer but also bicker and clash, while Yvonne continues to pursue her dream of stardom.
