Inception
Compelling, complex and visually overwhelming is how Christopher Nolan's films can be described. In Interstellar and Tenet, the viewer is drawn into the relativistic nature of time; in Inception, Nolan holds up a mirror within a mirror to make the boundary between dream and reality unknowable. The dream-in-a-dream world he sketches is essentially Escherian: what you see cannot exist and yet you see it. This produces very exciting, beautifully crafted stories, resting on a physical and philosophical foundation. Inception earned him numerous awards, including four Oscars.
Dom Cobb (Leonard DiCaprio) practices a special form of corporate espionage; he is an extractor, someone who steals trade secrets and ideas from his victim's dreams. It doesn't stop there: businessman Saito wants something more complicated, namely to implant thoughts into a competitor's mind in order to take him out of business. This dangerous form of dream manipulation is called inception.
