The Last Showgirl

For thirty years, the now 57-year-old showgirl Shelley has danced in the Las Vegas revue Le Razzle Dazzle, a show that, as she enthusiastically says herself, brings ‘breasts, rhinestones and joy’. So great is the shock when she is told that the revue is to be disbanded. What will happen next, she wonders in despair. Can she still join another show, or should she become a waitress, like friend and former revue dancer Annette? Meanwhile, she tries to reconnect with her adult daughter Hannah. Not easy, as there is a lot of old hurt.

In the 1990s Pamela Anderson was a great hit as the sexy C.J. Parker in the TV series Baywatch, now she steals show as the wilted showgirl Shelly. No thanks to her agent, who had already turned down the role without consulting her first. Indirectly she got hold of the script anyway and immediately decided to accept the role. The agent was fired.
