Warfare
When Saddam Hussein was ousted in 2003, the situation in Iraq was far from stable. The foreign troops still present, including those of the United States, were constantly under fire; it was life-threatening. Ray Mendoza experienced it first-hand. For 16 years, he was part of the Navy SEALs, an elite military unit of the US army that also operated in Iraq. Warfare is based on his memories, an intense and haunting war film that realistically and in real-time shows what war means. Together with Alex Garland (Civil War), he wrote and directed the film.
Ramadi, Iraq, 2006: a Navy SEAL unit has holed up in the home of an Iraqi family to keep a secret eye on the enemy from there. But the operation is completely derailed, after which they come under fire from all sides. while already badly wounded, they must hold out with the courage of despair until reinforcements arrive.
