Investigative journalist Lina Vdovîi is sent photos by her father Pavel, a man she has long been estranged from. The latter migrated from Moldova to Italy years earlier, hoping to earn more there. The photos show the many bruises on his body caused to him by his employer. This one not only mistreats him, both physically and psychologically, he is also exploited by him. He has now put his last hope in his daughter, perhaps she can help him. Her husband Radu Ciorniciuc, also a journalist, travels with her to Italy - to support her in her work, but above all to protect her emotionally from the reunion with the man who abused her, her sister and her mother for years.
This documentary is a portrait, as raw as it is poignant, of a family trying to escape from the clutches of toxic masculinity. Vdovîi is determined to break the cycle of violence, especially as she is expecting a child herself.
