Honey Don't

Californian private detective Honey O'Donahue is cool, very tough and attracted to women. Police officer Marty Metakawich fancies her, but of course without success. He is investigating the death of a woman with whom O'Donahue had been in contact the day before. He thinks it was a tragic accident, but O'Donahue sees it differently. She turns her attention to Reverend Drew, who leads a kind of cult whose members, mostly women, must submit completely to the saviour. It comes as no surprise that the reverend himself is the saviour. Meanwhile, all sorts of things are happening: her niece goes missing, her father wants to make amends with her, and she begins a love affair with police officer MG. And new victims are turning up...

After Drive Away Dolls, this is the second feature film Ethan Coen made without his brother Joel but with his wife Tricia Cooke. This black comedy/neo-noir is the second part of what is to become a lesbian B-movie trilogy, again starring Margaret Qualley.
