Dangerous Animals
In 1975, an unprecedentedly terrifying, cold-blooded and ruthless killer was introduced to the silver screen: the shark. The film in question, of course Steven Spielberg's Jaws, has since inspired countless directors to follow suit. One such director is Australian Sean Byrne, who in this film pairs the dangerous shark with an even more dangerous animal: humans – in this case, a deranged serial killer.
The free-spirited Zephyr travels through Australia in her van, mostly looking for places to surf. One early morning, she meets a man named Tucker in a deserted car park. The man organises excursions for tourists where they can see sharks from a cage. But his fascination with sharks goes much further: every now and then he ritually feeds people to the bite-hungry animals, and he has decided that Zephyr should be the next victim. He kidnaps her and locks her up in his boat. However, she has no intention of letting herself be eaten...
