A House of Dynamite

From one moment to the next, the military and political leadership of the United States is put on high alert. Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, a missile has been launched that is presumably heading for Chicago. Is it a nuclear missile, who launched it, can it be shot down, should there be retaliation? These are the extremely urgent questions that must be answered in less than twenty minutes. The president, the head of the crisis room Captain Olivia Walker, security advisor Jake Baerington and Defence Secretary Reid Baker are faced with impossible dilemmas.

In this topical and highly oppressive drama, director Katryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, among others) shows how a nuclear war can break out. She does so in three episodes, in which the events unfold from a slightly different perspective each time. Who can maintain an overview in such a crisis? Starring Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson.
