28 Years Later – Part 2: The Bone Temple
In 2002, 28 Days Later was released, a post-apocalyptic story about a world in which a malicious virus has turned most people into zombie-like creatures. Danny Boyle directed this horror story, Alex Garland wrote the screenplay. In 2025, the story continued with 28 Years Later, another collaboration between Boyle and Garland. In this film, young Spike travels with his father from a heavily guarded island to a dangerous, infected area on the mainland in the hope of finding a cure for his mother. A sequel to this story has now been made: 28 Years Later – part 2: The Bone Temple, this time directed by Nia DaCosta. Garland wrote the screenplay, Boyle produced.
Spike, who is still on the mainland, is recruited into the murderous gang of psychopathic Jimmy Chrystal and ends up in a nightmare from which there is no escape. Meanwhile, Dr Kelson has formed a friendship that could change the world. It becomes clear that the infected are no longer the greatest threat.
