Julia and Tobias are married, but that doesn't mean they don't have secrets from each other. During a smoking break, Julia fantasises with a colleague about a quickie at the office, while Tobias is being made a fool of by his subordinates at work. They don't talk about this at home, especially not with their moody teenage daughter Marielle. During an argument with a school friend, Marielle is slapped in the face, and that changes everything, because suddenly she can hear everything her parents do and think. This has quite a few consequences, because now that there are no more secrets, the marriage is in danger. But can Marielle turn off her new gift?
It seems that in his second film, German director Frédéric Hambalek is telling a supernatural story about telepathy, and that is indeed the case, but it is actually about the relationship between parents and their maturing children. Teenagers, telepathic or not, are usually very aware of what is going on in their parents' marriage.
