Dandelion's Odyssey
After a devastating nuclear war, Earth is finished. A few dandelion seeds are blown away just in time, and keep flying and flying until they float out into space, beyond the poisoned atmosphere. Via a journey through a black hole, the seeds end up on a strange, frozen planet that closely resembles Earth. As the planet thaws, the seeds germinate and eventually blossom once more, just like so much other life. A new, green world emerges, full of beauty and adventure.
From the smallest to the largest, all life belongs together and, more importantly, life always finds a way to survive. To make this clear, Japanese director Momoko Seto spent years refining many different techniques in this unique and beautifully crafted blend of animation and nature film. This time, the leading role is reserved for the plant world; not a word is spoken, not a human soul is to be seen.
