The shy Taylor is in prison for a drug offence, an overcrowded place where the drug trade flourishes, along with all the violence that goes with it. Clinging to memories of his son, he tries to survive by keeping as low a profile as possible. Then he is told he will be released early, but the arrival of a new cellmate changes everything. He now has to share his cell with Dee, a hardened criminal who is as manipulative as he is violent. Dee wants to take over the drug trade in prison and for that he needs Taylor. He knows exactly how to manipulate Taylor into doing his bidding, even if it jeopardises Taylor’s release.
Drugs and violence are rife in the British prison system, and to alleviate the strain on that system, the government has decided to release prisoners early with increasing frequency. Director Cal McCau shows what this all looks like in practice in this gritty, highly realistic prison drama. Starring David Jonsson and Tom Blyth.
