iano tuner Samuel Dirk longs for a child. In the world he inhabits, however, this is no longer such a self-evident desire – in fact, it is a highly risky undertaking. Having children requires physical sacrifice and stress, and these can cause a person to explode – quite literally. Samuel has witnessed this up close: it happened to his wife. Yet he refuses to let go of his wish to become a father and sets out in search of someone willing to go to great lengths to make that wish come true. Meanwhile, his mother begins to interfere more and more insistently in his life. She enlists the help of an old acquaintance. The pressure mounts, and Samuel must decide just how far he is willing to go.

In this self-written black comedy, brimming with absurd humour, filmmaker Dan Geesin – known for Sputum (2022) – explores how the desire to control life can spiral out of control, with all its explosive physical consequences…
