The Forum
You can only really solve political, economic and social problems through dialogue and discussion. This line of thought, as simple as it is sympathetic, formed the basis of a 1971 initiative by Swiss professor and businessman Klaus M. Schwab: the World Economic Forum (WEF). Every year, the most important leaders from politics, science and business meet in Davos to discuss global issues. But there is some criticism: isn't the WEF actually a place where companies can concoct lucrative deals with each other under the guise of being social? Why is the WEF such an elite male stronghold? And what about openness?
Filmmaker Marcus Vetter was the first to get permission to attend the forum with his camera. And indeed: it is full of powerful men. But a change is visible. Also present: Jennifer Morgan of Greenpeace and Norwegian activist Greta Thunberg? Is there really going to change something at the WEF?
