The Circus
When the little tramp is loitering at the circus, the police think he is a pickpocket. Accidently, he becomes the main act of the show. The circus owner hires him as a clown, but the tramp really only is interested in his daughter.
The Circus is a film with all the familiar ingredients that made Chaplin's film so successful and popular: the tramp with a heart of gold who unintentionally ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time... but who also finds love and fortune at his side. The film earned Charlie Chaplin an Oscar.
