The Kid
A desperate mother abandons her newborn in an expensive car, hoping the rich owners will take care of the child. However, the car is stolen. Once the thieves discover the child, they take off. A scruffy tramp eventually finds the baby and decides to take him in. Several years later they are still together – but for how long?
In The Kid, considered by many as the most important film from the silent era, Chaplin's beloved and iconic character alter ego The Little Tramp gains a new sidekick: The Kid (Jackie Coogan). It is Chaplin's first full-length feature film, combining comedy with drama. The timeless film, a huge hit worldwide in 1921, is still very popular with young and old.
