And Life Goes On
June 1990, Iran was hit by a massive earthquake, exactly in the area where Kiarostami had filmed Where is the Friend's House? two years earlier. He decided to return to find out how the two young protagonists were doing now. His experiences became part of And Life Goes On, a fictionalized documentary about a hard-hit area and also the second instalment of his Koker trilogy.
A film director (Farhad Kheradmand) and his son Puya are on their way to Koker to go see the protagonists of Where is the Friend's House?. Most roads have been damaged or blocked by an earthquake and they can only continue with help from several locals, who tell them more about the disaster. They finally reach the village and find not only devastation, but also one of the actors as well as a young married couple who tell him about the disaster and why they decided to get married anyway.
