Twelve-year-old Ali and his friends do not go to school. Besides working in a garage, they go pickpocketing every day. Anything to get money to survive and help their families. When by chance Ali receives the assignment to find an underground treasure, he gathers his friends and they go looking for it. In his new film, Iranian director Majid Majidi again focuses on the world of children, this time on the theme of child labour, a major problem worldwide. But he does so with humour and a some entertaining action scenes. Sun Children won two awards at the Venice film festival, including one for lead actor Roohollah Zamani.
