New in Amsterdam Zuidoost: Bijlmerbios Film(t)huis

Good news for everyone from Zuidoost, because Amsterdam Zuidoost has a brand new film theatre!

Good news for everyone from Zuidoost, because Amsterdam Zuidoost has a brand new film theatre! The Bijlmerbios Film(t)huis is the newest location for arthouse, documentaries and short films in Amsterdam Zuidoost.

Last Saturday, Bijlmerbios Film(t)huis has officially opened its doors. The film house was initiated as a result of the successful open-air cinema Bijlmerbios, an annual open-air cinema under the Kraaiennest metro station, which has been attracting visitors ever since 2015. Every Thursday and Saturday, at 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, the most beautiful arthouse, documentaries and short films are shown in the new art house. The film house also functions as a 'home' for filmmakers from Zuidoost.

With its regular film programming, Bijlmerbios is making a major step in broadening the cultural offering in Southeast. The programmed films - both local and international - will all have a relationship with the Bijlmer, in the broadest sense of the word. In the long run, it is intended that pre- and post-conversations will also be organised. Films are programmed by Rialto.

On the program this month: The Photograph, Martin Luther King VS The FBI, I care a lot, The Man Who Sold His Skin and 10 Songs for Charity. Curious about the entire program? Check out the official website.
