"The first time I ever saw a movie at the Cinémathèque Française, I thought: "Only the French. Only the French would house a cinema inside a palace". [...] I was 20 years old. It was the late '60s, and I'd come to Paris for a year to study French. But it was here that I got my real education. [...] Why did we sit so close? Maybe it was because we wanted to receive the images first, when they were still new, still fresh."

A film club for students
Everyone knows that your time at university is not about studying, but about everything that happens outside of lectures and exams. That's why Rialto VU recently started a new film club just for students. Were you looking for a good incentive to see great new films with your fellow students? Then join this new club with a monthly meet-up.
The club is open to all students in Amsterdam, and as a student you always get a discount on your ticket at Rialto. Are you a VU student? Then your ticket at Rialto VU even costs only €6.50. Each meeting is hosted by Cristina or Antonis, who also provide an intro prior to the movie. Afterwards there will be drinks at Bar Boele, because every film visit should include a chat after the viewing.
Curious about the club? Join the Whatsapp group for announcements about the next meet-up or check the Student Film Club page on our website.
