As a ‘visual architect’, Blanche moves between Amsterdam, the United Kingdom, and Ghana. This background forms the foundation of his aesthetic language, in which fashion, film, music, and identity converge. Over the past ten years, he has developed as a multidisciplinary creative talent into one of the most compelling voices in the contemporary directing landscape, particularly within music video culture.
During UNMASKED presents Ebeneza Blanche, audiences are given the opportunity to get to know him up close. In conversation with writer, presenter, and cultural researcher Chloé Heyart, we explore his artistic development: what has inspired him and what has shaped him into the distinctive artist he is today.
Following the conversation, we screen two short films Blanche created in collaboration with Amsterdam-based fashion brand The New Originals: Mathlete (2023) and Creative Space (2024). The programme is further enriched with a selection of striking music videos, including Dimension by Jae5 featuring Rema en Skepta, Point & Kill by Little Simz, and Sugarcoated Love by Rimon.
