The LUX – European Audience Award for the best film (known as the LUX Audience Award for short) is presented by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy, in collaboration with the Media strand of the Creative Europe programme and Europa Cinemas. This prize is one of the initiatives through which the European Parliament is committed to culture and education, by supporting European cinema and promoting cultural diversity.
You decide which film will win the 2026 LUX Audience Award. There are five films nominated; the film you rate highest will win the prize. If you thought a film was an absolute masterpiece, give it five stars. If you thought it was a rubbish flop, one star will do. And for everything in between: two, three or four stars.
Anyone who votes – and you can do so until 12 April 2026 – stands a chance of winning some great prizes. You might even win a trip to Brussels to attend the LUX Audience Award ceremony at the European Parliament on 14 April 2026, and meet the directors and film crews of the nominated films.
The nominees are:
• Christy by Brendan Canty (Ireland, United Kingdom | 2025 | 94 min)
• Deaf (Sorda) by Eva Libertad (Spain | 2025 | 99 min)
• It Was Just an Accident by Jafar Panahi (Iran, France, Luxembourg | 2025 | 105 min)
• Love Me Tender by Anna Cazenave Cambet (France | 2025 | 134 min)
