Volunteers for Rialto VU (minimum of one half-day every two weeks)
Rialto VU is a versatile and innovative cinema on the VU Campus in Amsterdam, with a focus on independent, socially engaged and artistic films.
We are looking for volunteers who want to be the face of Rialto VU together with us. Enthusiastic and energetic people who enjoy interacting with our visitors and who do their best to make them feel welcome. People who want to be part of a team and enjoy working together, who are creative and able to switch quickly.
As a volunteer at Rialto VU you take on a variety of tasks: you scan tickets at the entrance to the screening room, keep the auditoriums tidy, address visitors when needed and/or guide them to the right room, and support ticket sales at the box office when necessary. You work in a dynamic environment with a mix of students, university staff, film lovers, theatre visitors and bar guests.
What do you get in return for your time and effort? Unlimited free access to our films, a set number of drink vouchers per shift to spend in our cultural café Bar Boele, and the chance to join the social drinks and activities that we regularly organize for our volunteers and staff.
Tasks
- Scanning tickets at the entrance to the screening room
- Checking and cleaning the auditoriums
- Addressing the audience before the screening when needed
- Guiding visitors to the correct screening room
- Supporting the coordinators at the box office
