A Man Called Otto

Middle-aged Otto Anderson is annoyed by everything and everyone, and he does not hide his annoyances. Even though he is often right, for instance when he calls people out on anti-social parking behaviour, his whining has earned him a reputation as an old grump. He used to be nicer, but his wife's death has taken away all joie de vivre. One day he gets new neighbours, a family with children. The lady of the house, Marisol, always ready to say her piece, tries to get closer to her neighbour. At first, things are difficult but gradually a friendship develops, which gives Otto's life a new direction.

This feel-good comedy is a remake of the 2015 Swedish En man som heter Ove, which in turn is based on Fredrik Backman's novel of the same name. In the new version, Otto is played by Tom Hanks, while Mariana Treviño sparkles as Marisol. Tom Hanks' son Truman can be seen as the young Otto.
