Piccolo corpo
In the north-east of Italy, around 1900, Agata is expecting her first child. But fate is cruel: her child is stillborn. The priest has more bad news: the child will have to spend eternity in limbo and will never reach heaven, because it has not been baptised. Then she hears about a priest somewhere in the north who could bring a dead baby back to life for a beat, and in that beat still baptise it. With the child's tiny body tied in a box on her back, she embarks on the dangerous journey. On the way, she befriends Lynx, a woman who wanders through the woods. Together they continue the journey.
In this award-winning feature debut, director Laura Samani tells an unusual and enchanting story of loss, friendship and the power of women, infused with mysticism and folklore. The beautiful Italian landscape is one of the protagonists.
