Call Jane
Chicago, 1968: housewife Joy is happily expecting her second child. After she becomes unwell in the kitchen one day, doctors determine that she has a heart problem that could cost her her life should anything go wrong during childbirth. She wants to end the pregnancy, but regular doctors are unwilling to help her. Then she discovers 'The Janes', a secret group of women led by the charismatic Virginia who risk everything to allow women like Joy to make their own choice. The women save Joy's life, enough reason for her to join The Janes.
With the US Supreme Court removing the right to abortion from the Constitution this year, this film about a group of brave and strong women is more topical than ever - the fight for the right to self-determination is not over. The lead roles are played by Elizabeth Banks and Sigourney Weaver.
