Tchaikovsky’s Wife

Russia, 19th century: the beautiful and intelligent Antonina Miliukova, a woman of aristocratic descent, has virtually everything her heart desires. But her deepest desire is to marry composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky with whom she has fallen in love after hearing his music. He agrees to marry her, but does so only to put an end to the rumours circulating about him. However, he feels nothing for her. Then, when he also blames her for all his misfortunes and slumps, the marriage goes downhill. Antonia, who has feelings for him despite all the humiliations, is slowly driven to madness.

In this historical drama, Kirill Serebrennikov, who previously made Leto and Petrov's Flu, tells the story of a woman brought down by her obsessive love for man out of her reach. Starring Aljona Mikhailova and Odin Lund Biron.
