Le livre des solutions
Director Marc Becker is in post-production on what will become his masterpiece, Anyone, Everyone, but there is still something missing, he thinks - the final act is no good and so he keeps endlessly tinkering with the film. Not only his film crew, including the troubled editor Charlotte, but also the disgruntled producers want Marc to end the project, but instead he flees the situation by leaving with Charlotte for a village in the Cévennes, where his helpful aunt Denise lives. There he hopes to rediscover his creative genius.
In this semi-autobiographical film, French director Michel Gondry reveals the creative crisis he himself found himself in after the huge success of 2003's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Ten years later, he was then working on L'écume des jours, he got stuck and fled to his aunt Suzette. Her house was also where the filming for this film took place. With a small role for Sting.
