24 Hours with Gaspar - CinemAsia

Set in a dystopian near-future Jakarta, a city plagued with the anger of the disenfranchised, private detective Gaspar is tasked with investigating a mass grave and human trafficking network. On his search, he encounters an informant who gives hints towards the disappearance of his childhood friend. Uncovering a criminal syndicate led by the ruthless Wan Ali, the clock is ticking on Gaspar’s mission: he has 24 hours to live before his malfunctioning artificial heart stops beating. Setting off on his motorbike, he assembles a crew of co-conspirators who all have their reasons to seek vengeance on Wan Ali.

Adapted from Sabda Armandio's acclaimed novel, this fusion of road-thriller and science-fiction is a commentary on Indonesia’s corrupt hierarchy.
