Bird
Twelve-year-old Bailey lives with her half-brother Hunter and her father Bug in a squat somewhere in north Kent. The unemployed Bug, who is himself only in his mid-20s, pays little attention to his children. He is mostly preoccupied with the upcoming wedding to his girlfriend Kayleigh. Bailey's mother, too, has other things on her mind: her new boyfriend Skate. During a walk, Bailey meets a very peculiar man: Bird. He wears a skirt, speaks with a strange accent and says he is looking for his parents. The two become friends and it soon becomes clear that they need each other more than they initially thought.
British director Andrea Arnold tells a true story about a 12-year-old child from a broken home and does so in the way we know her, with kitchen-sink realism, as she showed in Fish Tank. But everything becomes just a little different with the introduction of the character Bird. With Nykiya Adams, Barry Keoghan and Franz Rogowski.
