Redemption
When the life of a child is more important than religious dogma: a moving, powerful Israeli drama about the unconditional love of a father. Orthodox Jew Menachem is very worried about his young daughter Geula. She is seriously ill and the widower can't afford the expensive therapy she needs. Menachem can see only one possibility: reactivating his old band and earning money from playing at weddings. But his old bandmates are as far removed from the old days of rock 'n' roll as Menachem is. And will the idea of a pious frontman work? Menachem and his friends don't care, they're united in a common goal: saving Geula's life.
Lead actor Moshe Folkenflik won the acting prize at the Karlovy Vary film festival for his role in Redemption.
