BlacKkKlansman

United States, early 1970s: Ron Stallworth joins the Colorado Springs Police Department – as the force's first black detective. Because of his skin colour, not all his colleagues take him equally serious. To prove his worth, he embarks on a very risky operation: infiltrating the racist Ku Klux Klan. He calls them up, starts speaking in a "white" voice spewing racist invectives and is immediately invited for a meeting. Of course, he can't go himself, so he sends his colleague Flip Zimmerman, who impersonates as Stallworth. All goes well for a while...

Based on true facts, BlacKkKlansman by director Spike Lee (Do the Right Thing) is an extremely entertaining film filled with tension and humour. Lee would not be Lee though if the film were not also an indictment of racism in the US – then and now. Winner of the Grand Prize of the Jury, Cannes Film Festival 2018.
