Vincent Price's (1911-1993) film career started in 1938. Though playing countless roles in a wide range of film genres, he turned out to be born for horror roles: with his sultry features and especially his distinctive voice – dark, disquieting, threatening – he became a celebrated, highly sought after horror actor. It is no coincidence that director John Landis asked him to provide the voice-over narration for Michael Jackson's iconic "Thriller" music video.
Professor Henry Jarrod (Price) runs a wax museum in New York, creating many amazing sculptures himself. He gets into a fight with his business partner Burke, who is afraid that the museum will go bankrupt. Burke sets the museum on fire in order to collect the insurance money, leaving Jarrod seriously injured behind. Jarrod survives and opens a new wax museum, which soon starts attracting many visitors. The horror room exhibiting historical and recent murders is especially popular. But there's just something about those images...
