Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn

Bucharest, 2020: Emi, a schoolteacher, has made a short, but intense sex tape with her husband. All for purely private purposes, but then the video finds its way onto the Internet through a laptop repairman and soon also onto her students' smartphones. Once the parents find out, the fat is in the fire; they demand her immediate resignation. But Emi has no intentions of quitting. The school management organizes a staff meeting inviting the parents and Emi to be present as well. At the meeting it becomes clear that the parents are by no means faultless themselves, but it still remains to be seen whether Emi can keep her job.

In this edgy comedy, director Radu Jude challenges our values: what is decent, what is obscene? It is in three parts: first we see the sex tape, then an anthology of abject actions, and in conclusion the school meeting. The film won the Golden Bear at this year's Berlinale.
